A few miscellaneous things before I go

My mother celebrated her 84th birthday on Sunday. We took her to dinner (a must routine for Edward) that evening. We gave her the much talked about, much longed for and not very much of a surprise, Kindle II. She loves it! I had loaded a newspaper and one book on it. She promptly purchased another book that Dorothy recommended right there at the table. While she has some more learning to do it seems to be a very easy thing to pick up and learn. Nathan really enjoyed the dinner as you can see but I think the food was actually very good for all of us.

For those of you who follow this blog I hope to be adding new entries while on my vacation in Europe next week. I will be gone for three weeks to Germany and Italy with my mother and sisters. Elda has offered to bring her laptop and if we can get a wireless connection I will do updates as time permits. I have a new Blackberry storm for keeping in touch in Europe but I think blog entries from it a lot to ask.

I will miss my daily routine here in Santa Cruz. Especially since the weather has started to turn clear and bright again. After 7-10 days of rain we very much needed it is really wonderful to see the sun again. I will get Email on the Blackberry while in Europe so stay in touch and I will try to keep you abreast of our ramblings.
