Backpacking in Los Padres

Well after literally years of procrastination, I finally got Revel out in the Ventana Wilderness for an overnight trip. It was only that an overnight trip but it worked out wonderfully. Given that it was summer and hot (98 degrees at the dam) we stuck to the river valley starting in at Los Padres Dam and going in only to Bluff camp. The bugs were tolerable but the Cortizone roll on (thank you Barb) was a huge help for the times that I did get bit.

Sorry that most of the pictures are of Revel but there was nobody else with us and his photographic abilities are severely limited. Would I go again? Yes in a heartbeat, and further if I had more time. Revel is still sleeping it off and moving a little on the slow side but I think he enjoyed it as well.
